Redbridge College is over 100 years old, This Is Redbridge (thisisredbridge.org). We are a college of further education with a good industry record for apprenticeships and careers. We’re really proud of our GCSE results this year. We’re achieving above the local authority, national and regional averages for Redbridge. A state special school for boys and girls aged from 3 to 11. Type of SEN provision: ASD Autistic Spectrum Disorder; MLD Moderate Learning Difficulty; SLCN Speech, Language and Communication.

Our Campus

Redbridge campus has a range of high quality facilities including the Box Theatre for performing arts students, hair and beauty training rooms and science labs for instance. There is an award winning student run restaurant, Rouge, an on-site gym and Legends boxing gym, a cafeteria and Wrap it Up food outlet and a Costa caf for socialising and meeting up between classes; as well as the box office in the DWIGHT Centre which houses several retail spaces occupied by retailers including; CEX, Swarovski, JD Sports Fashion & Health Club and The Fragrance Shop.

Our Campus was redeveloped in 2006 to become one of London's leading performing arts training venues. The development of the new RAH, (The Royal Albert Hall), along with the redevelopment of the Lyceum Theatre, (also known as the Dominion Theatre), and Hammersmith Apollo means that Redbridge is home to a thriving creative community. These developments have led to it becoming one of London's leading teaching and performance centres. As well as our campus, Redbridge has a thriving shopping centre, restaurants and cafes (lots of them), pubs, bars, hairdressers, supermarkets and the offer of lots more amenities if you head out of the area.

And let’s not forget Holloway Road – home to the likes of Mill Hill Broadway. Transport links are excellent – there is a train station close by and easy access to two different Underground stations. The Redbridge campus comprises of a learning village, which includes the Box Theatre; a sports centre with an 80-station fitness gym, 25m swimming pool and 1500 seat multi-use arena; a hair and beauty training centre and a fully equipped restaurant, food court and bakery.

There is also the Redbridge Technology Centre (BTC) which has electronics, engineering and automotive workshops. Redbridge campus is one of the most modern and state of the art. Your study plan might need some tweaking, and university is full of new experiences that might be making you feel a bit anxious. We’re here to help however we can. So don’t feel shy about coming and asking for support – you should be getting all the help you need to get the most out of your university experience. Our experienced team includes a careers adviser, psychologist, counsellor and dyslexia expert. By taking the initiative to ask for assistance from the Academy team, you not only help yourself but your classmates who are aiming to achieve A.

We want to support students, and so if you are feeling unsupported during your studies, have difficulties with your studies or personal circumstances, would like extra help – or just want to talk to someone – get in touch. We provide a wide range of support services available free to all students who have a place at the University. We also offer flexible support for all students on our courses. We can provide a range of extra support for students who may need it, ranging from help with their studies, counselling, financial, business and careers advice.

Rouge Restaurant

One of the things that makes Rouge so unique is how it reflects New City’s culture. As a BAME led and BAME serving institution, Rouge highlights this as much as possible. Cooks are predominantly Asian and seem especially Thai. The pan-Asian influence on the food is ideal, leaving a little something for everyone regardless of taste. Some popular choices at Rouge include the Chicken Samosa Croquette, which features chicken, coriander salad, chickpeas and sesame seeds in a rich Samosa breadcrumb coating; the Gardein Black Bean Burger with baby gem lettuce, tomato and onion mayonnaise in a bap; and the seitan tikka masala curry — which has just won a World.

Rouge Restaurant is your entry into the hospitality and catering industry. We are a training restaurant in Wanstead, London. Rouge provides experiential learning to students of New City College Redbridge and industry professionals; you will work with these students as part of your studies. Having been a hospitality student at another college for one year I fully recommend this course – Rouge’s reputation speaks for itself with good reason. Rouge also runs the restaurant and bar on behalf of the college.

We offer an relaxed dining experience, served four nights a week, featuring a seasonal menu of local and British ingredients, all produced and served by students. Treatment of service staff is excellent and this training restaurant has one of the best reputations in the local area. The food is amazing; it’s part of the training for our hospitality students. I’ve never seen a restaurant open, close, and re-open in the space of three months but this is what we did at Rouge.

We launched in December 2018 with an old French brasserie/bistro feel—it was dark, wood panelled walls and candles on the tables. Rouge Restaurant is a unique and vibrant place to enjoy modern, creative cuisine in the heart of Newham. Made up of one vast dining room filled with natural light from the roof lights (including a roof terrace), Rouge offers one of the best culinary experiences in the UK at a great value for money price.
